Weight issues on the run pt. II

I searched Mr Butt licker and yes!  I scored a sexy, form-fitting, DBH armor and what's this?  An assassin's note?  To my shock and horror discovered a note from the DBH to eliminate me and that the GULP! "Black Sacrament has been performed...."  Black Sacrament?  This is deep.  Who wants me dead and why would they go to such trouble for little ole me?  Oh well, at least I have some kick arse DBH armor...WTF!?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!  FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACKKKKKKKKK!!!

gg SKYRIM!

The game crashed. Everything I did for the past three hrs are gone.  I was able to go back to the same area I auto-loaded to but the situation played differently.  No matter how long I walked, I was only followed by two "hired bandits" this time.  Unfortunately there were no DBH members this time and I found the note in the same racist Nord and some cheap armor not worth stripping from his broke-ass 1 coin having pal.  How do you walk around Skyrim with one sorry gold coin on you?  Irritated that the sexy and expensive DBH armor slipped my grasp, I pushed on and eventually made it to WHITERUN and not having anything to show for my all day travels.  Every animal I snuck up on or chased was never killed.  The only thing I accomplished all day was deplete my much valued arrow count.  Grrrr!  I'm so peeved at this untimely crash.

So here are WHITERUN, let's see what treasures and delights will you bring me on this day?  Upon first glance, I noticed the wonderful structures all around.  This is a big Hold.  Which means shops to rob and unsuspecting pockets to lift.  Sweet.  This day is looking up already.  I quickly made my way up to the Jarl to tell him my dragon story.  In his palace, I was introduced to his mage (forgot his name) who also trains and has gasp! spells to sell.  Nice spells too.  And undivinely pricey at that.  The weakest spell here is 350.  Don't he know we're in a recession?   No matter, looks like I have work here to do.  After speaking to the Jarl and his mage assistant, I went into the city to see what I could get into.  I discovered to smelter and converted some of my raw materials.  Sold some weapons to the local smithy (female can't remember her name either) and not that I needed it, tutored me into making a simple leather helmet and armor.

Walking around WHITERUN and talking to the locals, I had my very first interaction with children in this or any other game.  I helped the little wimpy boy who was getting bullied by a girl.  She was gangsta.  Charging two Septims to not punch his face.  She has a future in either the Thief's guild or the dreaded DBH.  I eventually made it down to the cells and found SINDING the werewolf and picked the ILL MET BY MOONLIGHT mission and here is my current issue.  I folowed the mission and was eventually led back to Sinding who, for whatever reason is back into the cell he escaped from.  I killed him by shooting arrows through the bars.  Now I can't get past those bars or into that area to skin him so I can complete the mission and get Hircine's reward.  Which brings me to my next thought.  I made up my mind and want to become a werewolf.  Never been a werewolf in any game before so this would be cool.  If I can finish the mission.  To any reading this that may have answer for me, please post it.

IBecause everyone in WHITERUN were telling me that I looked tired, I took a much needed 8 hr nap in the afternoon and woke up around 2am ish and went to work on WHITERUN.  I picked the pockets of guards, raided the general store and every other store in the hold.  Even snuck into the dungeons and discovered a zombie staff worth 450.  Nice.  All in all I hailed in 600 plus worth in gold that night.  Thank you WHITERUN.

Thank you for reading and stay tuned.

Weight issues on the run pt. I

Because of life's peripheral opponents, I haven't been able to play as much lately.  Here's the latest on our hero:

To fund this book obsession of mine I hunt and sell the items I've crafted at whatever local hold's general store or nearby merchant.  Of all my skills Crafting is sitting at a fat and juicy 39 for this level 10and very soon to be 11 Dark-Elf.  Speaking of fat, along with collecting and carryying mostly deer, fox, rabbit and wolf skins, as well as the goods pilfered from those who have been unfortunate to attack me, my entire book collection, currently sitting at whopping 160 is also with me.  At 1 lbs each, I now have a weight issue carving into my profits.  In Oblivion this problem was alleviated with the MULE spell that would allow me to carry so much more weight.  I haven't had the good fortune of finding such a spell yet in Skyrim.  But I'm hoping to find a solution soon because the increase in cash flow means that I could purchase a house finally.

                                                              A Growing Concern

As I look for a solution to my weight issue, I decided that it was time to continue the main story and see more dragons by finally telling the Jarl at WHITERUN about the dragon in Helgen.  Yes, I'm delayer of quests.  Anyway, I would like to learn some Shouts.  This means finishing a mission and taking on others....Hmmmm.... more chances to discover more books.  I'm liking this idea already.  So I'm off  to WHITERUN after having sold my goods and lightening my load.  Speaking of load, I can only carry 315 total and 160 of which are in books.  I really need that house and fast.

I spotted and had slain two deers with poisoned arrows(Alchemy is increasing) from the kick ass Orcish Bow of Arcing, I picked up during my exploration of FAT MAN'S GROTTO, not far outside of WHITE RUN.  In sneak attack mode, I hit the first Deer and it stood still, turned some kind of greenish color and collapsed. Upon hearing the arrow's impact on us poor friend.  The second took off for what he thought was going to be a nice sprint.  But I quickly reloaded and caught him as he was trying to jump over a log in mid air.  That was one for the highlight reels if I could've captured that.  I also noticed two mean looking cats walking my direction as I was skinning my game.  They looked like business and by that I mean, they looked like they have a mission for me.  Because I wasn't in the mood to take on new missions, I kept it moving and put some distance between myself and the mission-giving-bandits.  And they followed.  For miles.  Now two became 4.  And eventually four became six.  What do they want with little old me?  Curiosity made me strategically slow within an earshot of my new stalkers.

"We're going to teach you a lesson about taking what doesn't belong to you." Was the first thing they shouted at me.  Ok, I know I was caught pickpocketing (low pickpocketing skills can get you in lots of trouble in this game, man) just about everywhere I've been to increase my PP skills( I know PP doesn't sound right but work with me on this).  But I payed my fines and never went to jail.  So what do they want with me now?

"Skyrim belongs to the Nords!"  Ok.  Now this racist fellow has a gripe about me, a dark-elf, being in his neck of the woods.  Now we're getting somewhere.  So these goons just want to follow me for miles for pickpocketing and territorial differences?  I smell a mission here and it's overcooked and burning.  I thought about taking them on but 6?  Wait.  Now they're 8?  Wait a minute, the two new goons, a great looking Argonian and a scary looking Khajit, love the fur colors and markings on him) behind me are wearing that those sexy, light, possibly magically altered, form fitting, DARK BROTHERHOOD armors.  Hmmmm....have I stirred the ire of the Dark Brotherhood somehow?  I love the DBH and would love to join them again.  Perhaps this is a chance.  Oh the books they might have.  Yes!  This might be a great day for me.  But I have this growing numbers problem that I have to take care of and at this pace, I may have an army on my tail. Strategy time!

Where's an imperial guard when you need him?  What's this growling?  A BEAR! Hmmmm...A BIG, FAT, POWERFUL BEAR, whose coat can fetch me some good armor and, who may be big and strong enough to unwittingly help me with my growing goon issue.  I think I'll call him BIG POPPA BEAR.  This cat was huge.  I immediately went into sneak mode and hid behind a large rock with a copse of trees to the left of it and a river curling around the front of said area where my bear friend is now taking an afternoon nap and resting.  Looking at the salmon jumping upstream (Another Skyrim WOW moment) Big Poppa Bear probably had a feast and now has the "itis".  Hope you're enjoying your short nap BPB because it's about to be disturbed.

The stage ad trap is set as I strategically sandwiched the bear between my hidden self and the oncoming goon-squad....and waited...and sang(Rock-a-bye Big Bear, on the soft ground).

"SKYRIM BELONGS TO THE NORDS!"

Ah yes!  The racist train is never late and its stupidest passenger is about to get his ticket punched.  Why am I chanting, "JERRY JERRY JERRY JERRY!" as Racist Nord was charging resting BPB with his double-handed sword?  Oh BOY!

SWAT!

Racist Nord caught a red light express into the river and landed on his back. DEAD! Ouch! Courtesy of a vicious right hook by Big Poppa Bear that would bring Tyson back to his glory days... I wonder if he has books on him?  Big Poppa Bear was now surrounded by the other four goons that traveled with racist Nord and have surprisingly adopted his philosophy of Skryim belonging to the Nords.  How quickly a racist ideology spreads in this game . My bear friend is going to need a little help here.  So I significantly reduced their health with poisoned arrows in sneak mode and giving 4X the damage with each shot.  Awesome.  SHIT! Too awesome.  The big bear has dispatched his enemies with too much ease, and little health damage.  And now he has eyes for little ole me behind a rock.  Frackin ungrateful ass soon to be studded armor bear.  As I was about to conjure my familiar wolf buddy to help with my defense, I heard one DBH member coming for said bear and moved fast.  Yikes!  Uncomfortably fast.  The Argonian was a natural born bear butcher with his blade and was wore the bear's health down with just three slashes of that sexy looking jaggedly curvy instrument in his hand (keep your thoughts clean will ya reader? Geesh!)  But where's his Khajit buddy?  Probably somewhere behind the bushes licking its butt trying to get the taste of Khajit cooking out of its mouth....hahaha!  One of my favorite jokes from Oblivion.

So I conjured up my wolf for an assist and...

Drum roll sound!

I leveled up!  Yes!  I...

OUCH!  Why is my health almost drained?  I quickly drank a potion that replenished my health and looked around and VOILA!  Butt-licking Khajit turned invisible and stabbed me from behind.  RUN!

I took off an saw that Bear and Argonian offed themselves.  Why is this mammoth up ahead glowing green as though it drank from a polluted river with nuclear waste from the Simpsons?

"I'm going to kill you Elf."  Shouted the butt-licking Khajit.  So I ran past the giant accompanying glowing green mammoth who didn't like us near him and just as I hoped, picked a fight with butt licker and clobbered him with his big stick.  That's the way you do it Mr. Giant.  Speak softly and in your case, say nothing at all but unintelligible grunts and carry a bick stick with your glowing mammoth frind and the world won't think you're weird.  Not one bit.

Current books in my collection

Here's is a listing of my current young book collection and my thouights on some of them:

Aedra and Daedra:  This shed a little more light on the origins on both of these creatures.

Ancestors and the Dunmer

Breathing Water by Haliel Mym:  This one is a very funny book that also spelled some hints on the importance repetition of skills while you play the game. Here's a quote from the the book that asserts that theory: "As with all spells and skills, you more practice the better you get."  So I'm going to take that as a sign from the game the in order for me to master some of my skills in the game I must practice them.

BHOTE ( Brief History Of The Empire) v2

Book of Dargonborn

Chance's Folly: This one was a great read.  Loved the ending.

Gods and Worshipers

Light Armor Forging

Liminal Bridge:  Got this one from a Necromancer.  Though I hate Necros, I do love some of the dark magic uncovered in their books.  This one has instructions on opening a gate to Oblivion using Soul gems and a Daedric artifact.  I would definitely like to try this one..  I would imagine that this is the Cliff's notes of

Myth Of Talara v1:  This book caused me to ask certain questions of about the lore of this game(Yeah I know it's a myth).  Could I actually run across the places and maybe even the people(ghosts) written about on these pages some of these characters I read about in these books?  Sort of like a Skyrim MYTHBUSTERS.  It would be cook if I did. Can't wait to read the further volumes of this book as I'm now caught in its web of mystery surround the lost princess.  Stay tuned.

Nightingales Fact or Fiction: After reading this one, I'm now thinking about doing something I don't want to do-A Quest.  Because naturally I'm curious about finding these NIGHTINGALES in the guild if they do exist.  Ugh!  Sometimes I wonder if the game already knows what I'm up to and is mocking me by presenting me with the delicious gift of solving a mystery within the game at the expense of taking on a quest.  This requires further and I will make a decision in time.

Fisherman's Journal:

The Code of Malacath: This book helped me understand The Orc social structure better and even gave me some insights on dealing with Orcs.

The Firmament

The Real Barenziah v2, v4

Thief of Virtue: I'm sure this one was in Oblivion as well.

Warrior

Yellow Book of Riddles

This is it for now.  I'm going back in the game to see what more books I can find.  Happy gaming everyone.

Stats and things

Here are the current basics of my character Zhi Han Coilbinds.

Race: Dark-Elf
Sex  : Male
Level: 6

I'm not sure if I the reader is interested in my stats so I will leave them out for now. and mention them as they change, when they change.  Now that I have created my own mission in Skyrim, I have to figure out how to make this happen.  My journey so far has me dispatching the orcs in CRACKED TUSK KEEP.  I kind of liked the place.  It has a cozy bed deep inside it and an alchemy table in there as well as .  This raid is important to me because it was here I recognized and made peace with my true obsession within this game.  My obsession for...BOOKS!

I didn't find any skill leveling books but I did add these to my collection: Along with the newly acquired jewels of my collection comes an emotional baggage.  I have issues with how I acquired my new books.  I had to kill everyone in the place and don't like how sloppy it is.  The killing was exciting because I got to see one of the hyped animated finishing moves in a decapitation sequence that would make the cut in a Quentin Tarantino thriller a la "KILL BILL".  What if I took what I wanted from them and left them alive?  Anyone can come into a cave or dungeon or whatever and kill every living thing there. And let's say I wanted to exploit the hustle and bustle of a crowded street or city, I can't go around killing everyone I see for my books.  I would like to be more subtle and less bloody in my approach.  Can I go through the game without killing another soul?  My aim is not to kill if I don't have to.  I know this game will push my resolve on this matter.  My current desire is to be able to walk into any facility or person, creature, or being in this game and pick their pockets for books and whatever else they may have on their person that would benefit my survival.  However being so close and personal with the the many denizens of this game, I must be prepared to flee, be strong enough to withstand blows, spells form the harshest of enemies. at a moment's notice.  Basically I have to pick my fights or suffer the consequences.

This search for books made me a moving scavenge and hunter. I will loot the bodies of the dead for materials and items to sell for better gear for the oncoming adventures.  In the process I seek to better my fighting, Alchemy, Pickpocket, Sneak, Smithing, One-handed, Archery, Destruction, Restoration skills when I hunt.  So enough writing it's time play.  I will write more of my adventures on tomorrow's blog.  So long fellow Skyrimmers and happy hunting.

Who is ZHi Han?

                                                 What's this blog really about?

A BIG BIG Hello and much appreciated THANKS  to the curious ones brave and caring enough to peer into the life and development of a gamer altar ego in the wonderful word of SKRIM.  I take it that many of you who read this will most likely play this game and know the jargon associated with it, so I will dispense spoon feeding the reader needless info.

If you're still with me, THIS blog  is for the fellow geeks in the land of SKYRIM out there.  The beautiful wonderful weirdo fellow geeks of this game. Like me. That are playing this game on a deeper level(I would love to read your blogs BTW, please post your links).

                                                       And here it is:

I will dispense or delay as much of the games attempts at adventure as possible and only because I know I will gain some kind of information(most likely a place) on this undiscovered part of the map I have never and wish to explore; since I have been brought in by the scripted events of the beginnings of the game.  Initially I wanted and created a character that was a crafter of furs, leathers and whatever other raw materials he can find, into armors and so on and have mainly kept faithful to that ideology.  However deep within the pursuit of that ideology developed a darker more sinister obsession:

BOOKS!  BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS!  BOOOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKSSSSSSSSS!!!!

I have created an inner demon.  On the surface, he is a seemingly mild mannered dark-elf who just happens to be nearby and living as an , yes actually living the life of an NPC.  But what lies beneath is this seedy, creepy character that will delve into any and all pockets, pocket books, barrels, shelves, dungeons, crypts, wherever life's adventures takes him in search of  BOOOOOKKSS!  one of this game's best secrets.  And why not books?  Apparently a few people took the time out of their lives to create these wonderful books that add so much to the lore of Skyrim and this is my way of repaying and thanking them for their efforts.  And my way of thanking them for their effort is by reading them.  I'm going to read them all.  Or at least as many as I could find wherever I may be.

I'm not in it for the skill books.  I'm in it for the deep inner folklore of Skyrim.  I'm in it for the information on that folklore.  And books contain a wealth of it.  No better place for it really.  In order to take on such a dangerous, yes I said it, searching for books in game is a very dangerous life for a Dark-Elf with not much powers and abilities...yet.  So everything's a challenge.  And because I want to explore everything I see in search of books, this daring task will take me to some dangerous lairs and possibly socially sticky situations.

BOOKS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM?

This poses an interesting question.  As I look out through my HUB in SKYRIM I would assume that, like me, every denizen of Skyrim that I see is a potential carrier of information.  They may possess a particular book on them.  And I know that within the house, shops, buildings, caves, dungeons, castles, everything I run across lies a potential for the discovery of a GASP!  BOOK!  A beautiful rich, shiny, or beaten up book on various subjects.  I am collecting them all for my library.  Perhaps someday when I own property, I will have books in all of my furnishings.

So to my fellow readers that are also taking on this awesome and dangerous task, please post a reply and let me know that you're out there.  I'd love to compare notes on your findings and what you may have learned from the game.  Thank you and enjoy.
